Fans of Filipino rock band Eraserheads (E-heads) who are also holders of the non-fungible (NFT) collection of the E-heads’ guitarist Marcus Adoro’s Punk Zappa NFT had the chance to win concert tickets for the band’s final shows in Canada last June 16, 2023, and New York, USA on June 17, 2023.
How did the holders join the raffle?
The E-heads concert ticket raffle was only available to fans residing in Canada and the United States.
Fans who wanted to win tickets for the band’s Ontario show had to acquire a “Do The Funky Chicken” NFT, which could be purchased on the Punk Zappa website for $149 or around ₱8,300.
On the other hand, Eraserheads fans who wanted to join the raffle for the New York concert had to avail the “Theme from Batman” Punk Zappa NFT for $249 or approximately ₱13,800.
Eraserhead Concert
After the reunion concert last December, the band toured North America beginning of May this year, playing in prominent cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, and others.
Some fortunate owners of Punk Zappa NFTs were awarded complimentary VIP tickets for the reunion concert while a single lucky fan secured an exclusive entourage pass by winning the auction for the “We Are The Mongols” NFT.
What is the Punk Zappa NFT?
Punk Zappa NFT gallery is the workof Adoro–who also goes by the same name. Together with GIGILx, the metaverse arm of the GIGIL Advertising Agency, the collection showcases Adoro’s paintings that draw inspiration from the 2014 Esquire Magazine cover featuring E-heads members recreating the iconic Abbey Road photo by The Beatles.
E-heads-related NFTs
Last February, Eraserheads vocalist Ely Buendia partnered with Artifract, an NFT platform for fine arts to bring his music to the metaverse.
After two months, BitPinas revealed in a scoop that Buendia together with New York-based artist Farrah Carbonell launched Buendia’s “Flaming Lullaby” NFT collection exclusively on Mintoo, the NFT platform of crypto exchange PDAX.
Last May, a musical based on an Eraserheads song, “Ang Huling El Bimbo: The Musical” released tickets in the form of NFTs via Mintoo. Each NFT ticket allowed the entry for two individuals.
