Currently, the feature is accessible through Google Workspace Labs. According to the firm, AI in Docs is available to testers using US English in 178 countries including the Philippines.
“It’s like having ChatGPT integrated directly into your document,” Paul Couvert, founder of answer.ai, tweeted.
As a disclaimer, Google noted that the suggestions prompted by the Workspace Labs may suggest inaccurate or inappropriate information and do not represent Google’s views, and should not be attributed to Google.
“Don’t rely on Workspace Labs features as medical, legal, financial or other professional advice,” the firm reiterated, noting that users should also not include personal, confidential, or sensitive information when engaging with the feature.
Moreover, Google reminded the users that it leverages Workspace Labs data and metrics to enhance, refine, and advance its products, services, and machine learning technologies across its platform.
“To help develop Workspace Labs features, human reviewers may read, annotate, and process your Workspace Labs interactions data,” the company added. When the AI feature is utilized, Google uses and stores the prompts the users’ enter or select, the texts selected to rewrite, generated text, and the feedback on generated text.
